More Juvenile Judges than Public Defenders? The Sorry State of Justice in Georgia | Alternet: Adults who cannot afford a lawyer stay in jail for months after arrest, and children at risk for detention go through the courts without access to a public defender, according to the 85-page complaint.

If we were a just society, the budget for the public defenders' offices would be the same as those for the district attorneys.  But....
