He's Good Enough, He's Smart Enough....

.. and the MN Supreme Court likes him, darnit! In a unanimous ruling, the MN SC ruled against Norm Coleman and essentially declared Al Franken as the Senator from Mn. Yeehaw.

And Coleman has conceded, so it's done.

Just Strange

I've watched Gov Markie-Mark's press conference a couple of times and remain just amazed at how weird it was. One lesson to take from it: in a situation like this, prepare a statement, read the statement, and leave; don't try to wing it.

Oh Puhleeeeeze

Darrell Issa has decided Ben Bernanke is a bad bad man who must be reined in and cast out from the sight of moral men.

This might (MIGHT!!!) be credible if Darrell Issa wasnt the craziest member of the House (he'd be number one in Congress, but the Senate has DeMint (and Corker, and Bunning, and... well, Republicans....)

Malacandra, on Twitter:

If I understand the GOP, goverment is bloated, wasteful and inefficient. And private insurance companies can't compete with that.

(No, I don't know who Malacandra is, but I may start following now...)

Sanford Found

Apparently, he was on the Appalachian Trial. Hiking naked?

OOOOH I'm Scared!

Just saw my first Conservatives for Patients' Rights commercial. Very scary, in a moronic, braindead, rabble-rousing sort of way. And, is it just me, or is Rick Scott even more Skeletor-y than Chertoff?

Shoot Deb Howell....

..if this is true.

Froomkin is one of the best of the best, and his dismissal (if that's what this turns out to be) is just another sign of the Post's descent into mediocrity.

*Yes, I know she probably didn't fire him, but my bet is she's a prime instigator. Plus, she's about as smart as a box of rocks.*

Speaking of Healthcare....

New Pew survey out shows 55% think healthcare should be completely rebuilt, and 83% favor covering everyone, with cost being important, but NOT the prime consideration. Wow!

Amen!

Hunter, at Dkos, responding to the Daschle, Baker, Dole memo:

If there's no public option, what the hell is there to legislate?

I'm not being facetious, I'm really asking. What other "reforms" are they seriously thinking will make a bit of difference? I find the whole thing to be a farce -- if you're not talking about a public option, you're not seriously "reforming" squat, you're just picking out new color schemes for your already burned-down house.

Fuck Blogger And/Or Mojo

I don't know what's going on, whether the problem is with Blogger or with Mother Jones, but my link to Kevin Drum's blog has stopped working, getting a 404 error. I've delisted and reinstalled it five times, and continue to get the same error. The problem seems to be that one or the other is translating the url to rss site and transposing the - in kevin-drum to kevin+drum, which bombs the whole deal.

the above link works, so use it in the meantime.... sigh

Update: Fixed, apparently
