GOP Bill Bans EPA Regulations - Liberals Unite | Liberals Unite:
On December 18, 2013, Rand Paul (R-KY) with co-sponsor Mitch McConnell (R-KY) introduced the S.1852 Economic Freedom Zones Act of 2013. The bill touted as a “Jobs bill” and “anti-poverty measure” is nothing more than an extreme anti-environmental bill to exempt polluters from EPA regulations, minimum wage and benefit requirements, and exempts them from paying tax in low poverty regions. It is a free-for-all for big corps and developers to take advantage of the most vulnerable and poison our communities.
