Women are victims of addiction and drug policy, but we rarely hear their stories.
I think part of it is the societal expectation of 'ladylike' behavior, plus the fact that, in our society, it's dangerous for a woman not to be in control. She has little enough 'control' of the male-dominated environment under the best of circumstance, being 'out of phase' with reality is a handicap most won't accept willingly. Just my 'male-dominated' two cents worth.
