AP released a poll today or what Americans expect in 2007 that was pretty uninteresting except for one tidbit. 25% of respondents expect the second coming this year.
SAY WHAT? I hear you cry. Yes, I reply, as my hands shake, thinking of all those people having voter registration cards. TWENTY FIVE PERCENT! If you're in a room with three other people, and they are atheists, then that means YOU believe that Jesus is packing even now to come back.
There's no historical context given, so no way to determine if this is more or less than would have been so inclined in previous years.
