..is going on in Congress? The PATRIOT Act is being treated (mostly deservedly) as a bastard stepchild on both sides of the Capitol. It finally got extended for six months by the Senate in a late night deal last night, with the Preznit signing off on it. Today, the extension goes back to the House, for a rubber stamp, and they can only agree to extend it for ONE month.
This was put forward by Chairman Sensenbrenner and it is either the best he could come up with working with the Dems (unlikely, since the House is fascist dictatorship controlled by the Repugs) or they've lost all functioning control of the loons in the House. Either one sounds good to me. I'll post more details/explanations as they come available.
