House Repugs Move to Kill YOU

In conference yesterday, funding for the president's plan (inadequate, biz-oriented, but the only plan we've got) to fight bird flue was axed. Apparently, the House Repugs would not accept the additional spending without cuts to other spending. I hope the survivors remember this and vote to remove them (assuming there's enough of us left to actually force Congressmen out of office.)

From the Reuters Article:

After days of intensive talks between the House and Senate, negotiators dropped a plan for $8 billion in funds that Democrats pushed through the Senate last month.

Conservative Republicans in the House insisted that an emergency U.S. effort to stockpile vaccines and anti-viral drugs that could be effective against the deadly flu would have to be paid for by cutting other government programs.
