Every instance of voter fraud that I'm aware of (at least in recent years... LBJ is LONG dead, okay?) has been committed by and for the Repugs. Let's not take them at face value on this issue.

FOCUS | Vote Counting Company Tied to Romney

This is very worrisome. Election fraud is far more likely at the counting end than the 'input' end (see the complete lack of reported voter fraud- you're more likely to be hit by lightning while seeing a UFO than to encounter actual voter fraud.) Check the ownership of the electronic voting machine makers and quake with fear. We're already seeing major divergences between exit polling and reported vote results. In any other country, if we were 'monitoring' the election, that's prima facie evidence of election fraud. And it's happening here.

Fake the Vote

True the Vote will be violating the law, almost inevitably, everywhere they operate. Ignore them (you have no responsibility to even acknowledge them) and report them. And spread the word that they are NOT official in any way shape or form and are most likely operating illegally. Do not let them intimidate ANYONE!

Voter Fraud Laws and Voter ID

Andy brings up an important point but doesn't run with it. Think of all the recent voter 'fraud' cases. Most turned out to be nothing, but the majority that were either Repugs lying about their precincts for whatever purpose or Repug hired contractors faking signatures on proposition or const. amendment petitions. There aren't hordes of un-ID-ed people storming the precincts to vote for Dems, but to the Repugs, any vote for the Dems is suspect. :)

Schlozman Appears and Lies

Bradley Schlozman, the DOJ voter fraud flunky, appeared in front of the Senate today and from the sounds of it, lied his ass off. TPM has extensive coverage/analysis.

Bushies Screwing Poor Voters

Digby has a great rant revolving around the McClatchy article today that detailed the Bush DOJ's efforts at voter suppression. Those of you who read this blog regularly know this is one of the issues that lights me up. Both Digby and McClatchy have me tilting like a drugged out pinball machine. McClatchy doesn't even try to pretend that the DOJ's actions are anything other than voter suppression (when McClatchy took over KR, I was really afraid it would dumb things down, but I've been wonderfully surprised that they seem even more profoundly interested in investigative reporting than KR!) Paul Kiel at TPMuckraker has a pretty depressing post about the politicization, neutering, and basic destruction of the DOJ's Civil Rights Division. It is perhaps the most scary part of the whole DOJ debacle.
