Bad Day for Icons of the 60's/70's
Former Senator and perennial Presidential candidate Eugene McCarthy died today, as well. His presence in the '68 Democratic race, and his outspoken opposition to the war in Viet Nam, basically drove LBJ out of the race, and the White House.
