FreePress.net | End the Intimidation: Stop the Attacks on Journalists and Their FamiliesDavid Miranda, the partner of Guardian journalist Glenn Greenwald, was detained yesterday for nine hours at London's Heathrow Airport. He was questioned under a British anti-terrorism law and his laptop, cellphone and other electronic devices were confiscated. 

Greenwald, of course, is the journalist who first reported on documents leaked by whistleblower Edward Snowden, which revealed widespread, unchecked surveillance programs in the United States and England. 

Intimidating journalists and harassing their family members are tactics used by totalitarian regimes, not democratic governments.
