Dragyn's Breath

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." Margaret Mead (Mostly what other say will be in italics, what I say will not. There will be occasions when this is messed up or forgotten, but generally it will true- for those keeping track of the opining vs the reporting!)

The United States of Crazy: You Can Now Go to Jail for a Sarcastic Facebook Comment | Alternet

I grew up in the 60s in Texas, so I've never been a big fan of law enforcement. One would think with a half century (OHMYGOD, REALLY!?!?!) of advancement, we'd see improvement in the policing policies of our law enforcement agencies. And I really think we were seeing it. Then the militarization of the cops due to the (oh-so-successful) War on Drugs met the incipient War on Terror and all progress was lost, a large heap of regression was tossed in too. I'm sure there are good cops out there, but they're being buried in a tidal wave of stupid policing.
