A half century late, but good news anyway. Gordon Brown apologizes for Britain's deplorable treatment of Alan Turing after the war. Turning, essentially the father of the computer AND the man who cracked the Enigma code, easing, if not, enabling, the Allied victory in Europe in WWII, was tried, convicted, and chemically castrated for the crime of being gay in the aftermath of the war (and I thought it was tough growing up in Texas!!!!) Shortly after this charming sequence of events, he killed himself.
Gordon Brown writes an apology in the Telegraph. Not enough, but I guess it'll have to do.
