"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." Margaret Mead (Mostly what other say will be in italics, what I say will not. There will be occasions when this is messed up or forgotten, but generally it will true- for those keeping track of the opining vs the reporting!)

Dont Blame Us?
It's not clear WHY, but the Iraqis are announcing that the Saddam verdict might or might NOT come on Nov 5, conveniently two days before the U.S. elections. Maybe it's payback for last week's brouhaha over timetables, benchmarks, etc. A decision to hang Saddam (pretty much a foregone conclusion) might work to polish Dumbfuck's image (see! I was right to invade to get rid of the WMDs...er I mean, this inhuman ally of ours.... er I mean monster.....) which might reflect back on the Repug candidates down the ticket. All in all, a decision on Wednesday seems to me to be less blatantly manipulative than one on Sunday, all I'm saying. :)
