Boom!

In the name of national honor, Bugs and Porky (Frist and Hastert) announce their sending a letter to Intelligence Oversight committees to investigate the leaks about the black prisons we're running overseas (not into the prisons, mind you, but the leak.) Slightly later, Sen. Trent "Big Mouth" Lott announces that it was probably a Repug Senator that leaked it, since all this was discussed in a private meeting of the R's Senators and Cheney the day before the leak hit the Post. Suddenly, Frist announces he hasn't signed the letter, but might later in the day (he hadn't as off 6pmEST, his announced 'deadline'.

This would be all be funny, if it wasn't so sweet. This looks to me like the wheels coming completely off the Repug machine. First they out a CIA NOC, now they out themselves. Keep up the good work, bozos, America is counting on you taking yourselves out before next year's elections.

Maybe he just figures if he can get a Repug Senator indicted for something, it'll take the heat off his SEC/FEC/ETC investigation.
